CDT Welcomes New Class of Advisory Council Members
Today the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) announced new members of its Advisory Council. This distinguished group of leaders brings diverse expertise and unique perspectives that will help shape CDT’s work at the intersection of technology, policy, and democracy.
“We’re thrilled to welcome this remarkable group of individuals to our Advisory Council,” said Alexandra Givens, President and CEO of CDT. “This is a critical moment for ensuring that technology works for everyone. Our Advisors’ insights and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for a digital world that supports democracy and human rights.”
The Advisory Council, which convenes several times each year, plays a key role in advising CDT on emerging issues and strategic priorities. This body operates independently of CDT’s Board of Directors and provides guidance on CDT’s advocacy efforts to ensure they reflect diverse viewpoints and are informed by a broad spectrum of expertise.
Jennifer Taylor Hodges of Mozilla and Christopher Wood of LGBT Tech will serve as co-chairs of the Advisory Council. Together with the new members, they will help steer in-depth conversations around technology’s role in society.
This year’s new members include:
- Shawn Bone, Senior Director of Public Policy, Verizon
- Liza Getsinger, Strategy & External Affairs, Google
- Chan Park, Head of U.S. and Canada Policy and Partnerships, OpenAI
- Sean Perryman, Global Head of AI & Fairness Policy, Uber
- Juan Proaño, Chief Executive Officer, LULAC
- Justin Sherman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Global Cyber Strategies
- Laura Zommer, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Factchequeado
They join a distinguished group of 40 other leaders from civil society, academia and industry.
CDT looks forward to working with these outstanding experts as they contribute to advancing a vision of technology that empowers, respects, and protects individuals worldwide.
