CDT Endorses State Data Privacy Act Model Bill from EPIC & Consumer Reports

The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) recently supported this updated model state comprehensive privacy bill from EPIC and Consumer Reports that emphasizes data minimization, civil rights, and private right of action.

CDT endorsed the compromise model bill because it properly focuses on strong data minimization, civil rights protections, and includes a private right of action. States that pass this law would truly protect the privacy of their residents.
